My name is Axel Kolcow (he/him) and I am a queer transgender man. I am a therapy intern in my final year of earning my Master’s of Science in mental health counseling at D’Youville University. I am interested in providing gender-affirming, poly-affirming, and kink-affirming therapy as someone with lived experience. I also approach this work through a social justice lens as an antiracist who believes in the social model of disability and that sex work is work.
I grew up in Schenectady, New York. Before landing in Buffalo, I lived in Binghamton, Troy, Albany, and on Long Island. I’ve been in Buffalo for the last eight years. I am pursuing this field primarily because I want to support and uplift queer people, giving back to the community that has held and uplifted me.
